The opening overs after lunch have once again proved to be fateful for the Indians as they lost both their set batsmen and Stuart Binny within 4 overs of the post lunch session just like day one. England would now be looking to run through the tail and restrict the score below 400.

The scoring rate has picked up considerably after the entry of Ravindra Jadeja in the middle. He has played freely so far and looks to be rather dangerous for the englush team. The going has been rather dull for MS Dhoni today, but he is looking set for a big one. English bowlers managed to pick up the well set Mural;i Vijay for 146 this morning, but that was all that they could manage. With 2 sessions still to go and India stioll having half the side in the bag and already 300+ on the score board, the sub-continent team looks rather settled for a huge score.
India 304/5 after 112 overs, MS Dhoni 68*Ravindra Jadeja 0*
England have been able to pick up the wicket of Murali Vijay, a controversial decision that could have gone anyway. the scoring rate has still not picked up but with Dhoni still at the crease and Jadeja and Binny to come the Indians still look well ahead in the context of the game.

Indians look very settled at the crease at the moment with Murali Vijay moving towards his highest test score while the Captain is on his way to his first century outside the Sub Continent. English bowlers seem to be content bowling dot balls and the chances created to take wickets have gone wanting. If the current pair is not dismissed by Lunch then India has a very good chance at posting 450+ runs with some notable contributions from the lower order.

India once again have started in a slow but seured manner. They have taken minimum risk so far and seem to be building towards a respectable total before they can launch the much awaited assault. England on the other hand have not managed to the grab the chances that the batsmen have provided them with. Matt prior dropped a simple catch that would have kept the Indian Captain out in the pavilion.
India will face the English team in the first test at Nottingham and if we go by what the early signs suggest, this might just be a series that will develop the two participating nation’s future teams. While India will be looking to avenge their miserable defeats last time around, England have a side that has faced scrutiny on multiple occasions; be it their captain of their defensive style of play and would to overcome their critics by repeating the result of the series from 2011.
When India was in their backyard the last time around, the English team played all over the Indians and managed to pull off a whitewash, a result that the Indian team suffered in 2 successive oversea’s series. It is pretty evident that things have changed considerably in the past three years, and the Indian team that is touring the British Isles this time around seems to be a lot more comfortable against pace, bounce and swing than the team that toured the last time around.
The host managed to pull back things on the firstd ay after the first session, when Pujara and Vijay provided the Indians with a terrific start. The visitors will now be looking to extyend their advantage by posting a huge total since they have 2 well set batsmen at the crease. The onus lies on Murali Vijay and MS Dhoni to lead the Indians to a comfortable total.
