THE charity have confirmed that £2.5million has been raised by the text appeal during the course of the Glasgow 2014 Games opening ceremony.

UNICEF have confirmed that the text appeal from the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony has already raised a staggering £2.5m.
This year's Glasgow 2014 games were the first to feature such a charity link up, with Scotland greatest Olympian Sir Chris Hoy and actors James McAvoy and Ewan McGregor among the famous faces urging fans in the stadium and watching at home to donate.
People were urged to send a text, automatically making a £5 donation to the charity - who have been overwhelmed by the response.
£2.5million has already been raised, with the final still to be confirmed.
